It’s a perfect day. The sun beckons you to revel in its rays and a slight breeze cools your sun-kissed skin while whisking your mind away. And at that very moment you remember that you’re in possession of the most perfect getaway, one that harnesses everything you need to truly embrace this feeling…Your very own private paradise in the heart of the Cape Winelands – a mere 35 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the Mother City.

Spontaneously you decide to pack the bare essentials (not much needed where you’re going), and make the one call guaranteed to quench your desire for something as unique as you are.

The concierge on the other end of the line is welcoming. It’s as if she’s been anticipating your call all day and your voice is instantly recognised. You request the finest wild Alaskan salmon, luxurious Beluga caviar and a chilled-to-perfection bottle of your favourite wine. As a final indulgence, you ask for some rich, decadent Belgian chocolate truffles and the most luscious ripe figs.

You head out onto the N1, enthralled at the prospect of yet another of life’s ‘as good as it gets’ moments. Enjoying the spectacular setting of the Cape Winelands’ mountain ranges and greenery...

Your concentration wavers and your eyes widen in awe as you approach the stately manor that is Val de Vie POLO VILLAGE. You’re ushered in like royalty, and as you step over the threshold of your newly acquired luxury 'Polo Pad', you’re serenaded by the sweet soulful sounds of Louis Armstrong – dulcet tones that blend beautifully with the understated elegance of your Stefan Antoni designed apartment. You note that the concierge has taken care of your every request, immaculately presented before you. You are home, and this is going to be one of those memorable weekends.

You’ll pop in at the stables to greet your prized stallion before playing a couple of chukkas of the Polo game on the main field. Then a quick sundowner on the Pavilion Terrace before a romantic dinner for two at Le Quartier Francais in Franschhoek.

Morning has broken and you’re energised by the rising sun and crisp breeze. You decide to take a leisurely jog through the vineyards and along the river, taking inspiration from mountains that change colour with each passing minute. Thereafter you enjoy a fourball at Pearl Valley’s Jack Nicklaus signature golf course followed by lunch and a crisp Sauvignon Blanc.

After a soul-satisfying afternoon you return home to cool off in the shimmering pool and soak up the last of the African sun.

In comfort and at ease, you realise that this is a life worth living. The Polo Village provides luxury at its finest. This is the one place designed to enhance your life with all the luxuries deserving of a life well lived.

A life as effortlessly customised to your every need lies in the lush
Paarl-Franschhoek Valley, at the Val de Vie Polo Village.

Val de Vie has a rich history. It started with a small community of French Huguenots and Abraham Andries le Roux, who was given the farm in 1783. He saw the great potential of the area, recognising it as the ultimate location to continue his love of master wine-making. The first wines were produced here in 1825, and the wine cellar built in 1862. Today the spectacular valleys of Franschhoek and Paarl have been proclaimed as world heritage sites.

Val de Vie Wine Estate forms part of the Northern wine farms on the Franschhoek Wine Route. The historic manor house has since been caringly restored, while its renovated cellar combines the latest wine-making technology with traditional methods to produce award-winning wines.

Val de Vie is perfectly located, a mere 35 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Cape Town city centre and 25 minutes from Cape Town International Airport. From a 42 km mountain bike and running route trailing through the estate alongside vineyards and fishing spots next to the Berg River, our world-famous Pearl Valley Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, to exquisite event facilities and outstanding restaurants- all encapsulated by world- class security.

917 hectares of natural splendor and spacious surroundings offer true country- style living. The estate is a utopia for equestrian lovers – catering for all disciplines with pristine facilities available. Indigenous fynbos, zebra and a variety of small antelope are protected in environmentally sensitive areas on the estate. The estate is a home to a variety of avifauna species, such as the Fish Eagle and Barn Owl.

The exclusivity of Val de Vie has drawn many Captains of Industry and high profile individuals. They have chosen to call this home not only for its perfect location and modern design, but because the Estate goes to great lengths to ensure the safety of residents. Val de Vie takes immense pride in being one of only two residential estates in the world to have deployed thermal IP cameras (40 in total) covering the entire perimeter, video analysis to monitor intrusions and various systems to maintain security coverage during power outages.

To ensure the maximum safety of residents, further security measures such as biometric-access control, a two-metre high wrought-iron fence, concrete plinths, full electric fences, on-site monitoring centre, a CCTV network and an on-site patrol office have been implemented.

However, having such stringent safety and security features in place does not infringe on the privacy of residents. Great care has been taken to maintain discretion. Speed cameras, speed humps and recommended speed limits ensure the safety of children residing and playing within the Estate.

At Val de Vie we understand that total safety and peace of mind are as vital as creating a lap-of-luxury experience. The POLO VILLAGE at Val de Vie will share in all of the above, and more…
